Open to students aged 6-12, Salle Mauro Cavalier Camps are an exciting way to introduce new students to fencing. The camp will cover the history of fencing, rules for the sport, footwork. and lots of hands on training. The camp instruction is designed to develop a love for the sport as well as help new fencers become more active and fit.
Camp cost is $275 and hours are from 9:00am-1:00pm daily. Fencers should bring their own snacks and lunch and should wear shorts, t-shirts and athletic shoes. After camp is available until 3:00pm for an additional $20/day. There is a 10% discount for siblings.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for hosting a once-in-a-lifetime fencing camp! I especially want to thank you for taking the time to work with me ind
ividually. I can honestly say as I continue to process what I learned in our lesson, my fencing level continues to increase. I’ve also started teaching what we worked on to the fencers here at University of Florida, and their fencing is already improving after just a week.
I had an incredible time, and all the fencers here in Florida love hearing about my experiences fencing the Italians. I learned more about fencing in one week than in the past 2 years. It was also great talking with Dan, as I picked up a ton of tips and examples on how to deal with younger kids.
Thanks again for arranging this and allowing me to participate, I really enjoyed it.

Salle Mauro
Camp Victory starts this Wednesday at 9:00am. The location has been changed to Salle Mauro (4007EE Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77025). There are a few things that are inportant for all campers to remember:
- Pack a lunch or bring money for one of the local restaurants.
- If under the age of 14, you will only be allowed to go to a local restaurant with written permission of your parent or guardian. If under 14 and you have written permission, you will travel in a group of at least 4 and with one member at least 16 years of age.
- Bring full fencing uniform and 2 working weapons and body cords.
- No open containers are allowed in the fencing area. All food and open containers will be kept in the break area.
We hope all our fencers have a great time at Camp Victory. Please do your part to help keep all trash picked up and all areas clean. Be courteous to other campers and treat other fencers and coaches with respect.

Lead by Andrea Baldini, Simone Vanni, and Martino Minuto of the Italian Men’s Foil Team, Salle Mauro held its first Italian Camp from June 6-10. Joined by US National team members Miles Watson-Chamley (currently 10th in the world) and Kurt Getz (currently 13th in the world) as well as Tomer Or (former Junior Men’s Foil world Champion) of Israel, over 40 fencers from around the country spent the week in intense preparation for Summer Nationals.
Feedback from the camp is stellar. We’ve heard from attendees that the training techniques used at the camp has already helped raise the level of fencing at their club. Several people have said this is just what they needed to get their fencing to the next level after hitting a plateau in their club. We welcome all comments and want to share them with you.

Program Details:
Warm-up, footwork, and extensive fencing with some of Italy’s greatest fencers. The Italians have developed some of the greatest fencers in the sport, and this opportunity to train with them and talk to them about tournament preparation is too good to pass up. Find out how they set up their actions and what they look for in their opponents. One of the two best training opportunities in fencing all year.
The Salle Mauro summer camps were once more a big success. Over 75 kids came through our program and learned about the sport of fencing, having a great time in the process.

Camp Victory is a week long intensive training session that serves as a final prepatory push for US Fencing’s National Championships. Fencers push their mind and bodies to get ready for the shock of hundreds fencers in one room competing. Coach Mauro has been holding this camp with the French fencers and coaches for 3 years now with greater success each year.
